Warm Care for Overseas Students During the Spring Festival

As the Spring Festival, China’s most cherished traditional festival, approaches, heartfelt care and warm blessings are extended to overseas students studying far from their motherland. Though separated by thousands of miles from family, they are never alone in this festive season.

Universities, Chinese embassies and consulates, as well as overseas Chinese communities, have launched a series of caring initiatives. Online New Year gatherings enable students to video-call their families, sharing the joy of the festival across distances. Local cultural activities, such as dumpling-making workshops, Spring Festival couplet writing sessions, and lion dance performances, let students immerse themselves in traditional customs and feel the warmth of a "second home."

Customized care packages with festive snacks, practical supplies, and handwritten greeting cards are also delivered to students, conveying sincere concern for their life and well-being. Mental health support hotlines and online counseling services remain available to ease homesickness and anxiety.

These gestures not only bridge the distance between the motherland and overseas students but also deepen their understanding of Chinese culture. To all overseas students: May the Spring Festival bring you peace, joy, and strength. You are always in the hearts of the motherland, and warm wishes will accompany you every step of the way.
