Our university recently organized a safety briefing (class meeting) specifically for international students, aiming to enhance their safety awareness and provide practical guidance for a secure campus life. The event, hosted by the International Student Office and class supervisors, attracted overseas students from various countries, who actively engaged in discussions and knowledge sharing.
The briefing covered key safety topics closely related to daily life: campus security protocols, traffic safety tips for off-campus trips, precautions against fraud and theft, fire safety in dormitories, and emergency response measures. Through real-case analyses and interactive Q&A sessions, teachers explained potential risks and practical avoidance methods, emphasizing the importance of abiding by local laws and university regulations.
Special attention was paid to cross-cultural adaptation scenarios, such as how to seek help from the university or local authorities in case of emergencies, and contact information for emergency hotlines, campus security, and the international student service team was distributed to all participants. Many students shared their concerns and experiences, and teachers provided targeted suggestions.
This safety class meeting not only equipped international students with essential safety knowledge but also strengthened their sense of security and belonging. The university will continue to organize such practical activities to create a safe, comfortable environment for overseas students to study and live in.
